I found the fictional DreamOn Pro software package through David Kusek on the Future of Music blog and it cracks me up! They should add a “Suck” knob with “less” on one end and “more or less” on the other. Enjoy:

Perez Hilton recently announced a deal with Warner Brothers to start his own record label. Many in the music industry wondered if Perez has the expertise to find real talent and show them to the world. It seems Perez has signed his first artist, a French singer name Sliimy (it’s pronounced Sl-ee-my). After seeing pictures and videos, I couldn’t help wondering if this guy is somehow related to Prince…

Fantasy World is coming

Mike Estok and I got together Tuesday night at his Vibe Dial Studios to start working on the record. It’s going to be 6 songs, so technically an EP, and I’m calling it Fantasy World. I had another title in mind, but I might that one later, so I won’t spoil it here.
We were just getting the basics down for now, rough acoustic work tracks and laying out the structure of each song so we know what to record and all that. He’ll be tracking drums Monday and hopefully I’ll be able to drop by and give a listen.
I’ll be adding pictures to the Fantasy World EP Sessions gallery, so check back for more pics as we keep recording. I’ll try to get someone to get some of me next time. Being the photographer too makes it a little difficult to get pics of yourself, ya know?
Rehearsing is fun

When you have a band as awesome as this one, rehearsals just plain fun. We’ve rehearsed a few times now and material is just sounding better and better. It’s helped a ton that I was able to give them a rough Garageband demo so they kinda knew where I wanted to go. The fun part, even though I’ve sort of already produced the songs, they are bringing new ideas, sounds, and in some cases, song structures and making the songs even better.
As you can see, we took some pics of one of the rehearsals. I meant to bring the camera to every rehearsal, but I forgot in the tumult of grabbing gear to get there on time. This time, I remembered, but Paul wasn’t able to make it.
Ski had the brilliant idea changing the intro for 11:11 to the chorus, rather than the same thing as the verses. I had some trouble keeping tempo with the original intro, so starting with the chorus really nails the tempo down before you get into the quarter notes in the verses.
We were also joined by Yoda on cowbell. He rocked and when we asked him if we would be great at our gig, he said, “You will be, you will be”. You can’t get any better than that…
